Jetzt ist schon fast wieder ein Jahr vergangen – Gottseidank! Walpurgis 2015 steht vor der Tür, und ich freu mich drauf wie nur was. Das wichtigste Fest im Harz markiert nicht nur die endgültige Auskehr des Winters (nach sechs langen, dunklen Monaten), sondern bedeutet auch drei Tage lang ausgelassenen Trubel im ehrwürdigen Kurpark von Schierke. Und ich kann wieder nach Herzenslust oszillieren zwischen verlassenen Erholungsheimen, selbst gesuchter Waldeinsamkeit und betrunkenem Trubel auf dem Mittelaltermarkt. Glückauf und Prost!

Walpurgis 2015: Programm mit Mittelalterrock, Irish Folk und Stelzentheater
Nachdem die Feierlichkeiten am 1. Mai 2014 buchstäblich ins Wasser gefallen sind – es hat bis nachmittags um 4 geregnet, und sogar die Fische in der Bode wurden richtig nass – werden wir zur Walpurgis 2015 mit einem dreitägigen Festprogramm entschädigt. Hoffen wir mal, dass es trocken bleibt! Auf dem Musikprogramm im Kurpark stehen Stars der Mittelalterszene wie Blocksperga und Rabenbrüder, Lieblinge aus der Region und Interpreten irischer und schottischer Folksongs. Wieder mit dabei ist außerdem das Federgeist-Theater mit seinen fantasievollen Stelzenfiguren und der Walk-Act von Nashoch Himilsanc als echte Einmann-Show. Die Höllenbrut Harz könnte manchem kleinen Kind eine Riesenangst einjagen. Mir auch, ehrlich gesagt. Die Gruppe Schandmaul gibt ein Sonderkonzert am 02.05., da sind wir allerdings schon wieder abgereist.

Trauma Walpurgis 2011
Viel wichtiger noch als der musikalische Rahmen ist für mich das kulinarische Programm zur Walpurgis. Seit 2011 zu knapp kalkuliert wurde und unverhältnismäßig viele Besucher sich einen viel zu kleinen Vorrat an käuflich zu erwerbenden Speisen teilen mussten, bin ich jedes Jahr ängstlich besorgt, ob es denn auch genug für alle gibt. 2011 standen wir vor ausverkauften Buden! Vorsichtshalber steuere ich nach dem Eintritt in den Kurpark deshalb als erstes einen der zahlreichen Fressstände an, um mich mit Rahmbrot, Flammkuchen, Spätzle oder Spanferkelbraten zu versorgen. Danach erst kaufe ich mir das erste Schwarzbier, manchmal auch Kirschbier, zwischendurch immer mal nen Met oder Honigbier, wenn uns danach ist auch mal ein paar Schierker, und zur Abwechslung einen liebevoll gebrauten Hexencocktail. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt bin ich jedesmal bereits so sternhagelvoll, dass ich schamlos anfange mit der Bedienung zu flirten, sei sie männlich oder weiblich, aber komisch – bezahlen musste ich bislang trotzdem jedesmal. Sei’s drum.
Verzaubern die Walpurgis 2015: Stelzentheater Federgeist
Wenn ich Anfang Mai aus Schierke zurückkehre, werde ich von meinen Erlebnissen beim diesjährigen Höllenspektakel berichten. Wahrscheinlich werde ich an dieser Stelle also lediglich ein paar zusammenhanglose Fotos einfügen, denn ich erlebe ja doch jedesmal so ungefähr dasselbe, und das ist eigentlich gar keinen Blogpost wert. Aber wer weiß. Zur Walpurgis 2015 haben sich nämlich außer Susanne, meiner alten Weggefährtin unzähliger Harzreisen, auch noch meine treuen Freunde Laura, Frank und Olli angekündigt, vielleicht kommt sogar Joschi mit. Full House also für Frau Thorndike im altehrwürdigen Glockenturm. Das gibt vielleicht ein Gruppenfoto. Vielleicht sogar mit Frau Hintze. DAS wäre doch mal cool.
